NSP Pro Software Development Kit Components

The NSP Pro SDK documentation components consists of the following manuals:

  • The NSP SDK Programmers Guide and Reference Manual - Describes in detail the programming environment necessary to develop NSP Pro applications.
  • The NSP API, Programmers Guide and Reference Manual - Describes the Applications Programming Interface of NSP Pro.
  • The NSP Pro Applications Programming Interface DLL.
  • The VSP API, Programmers Guide and Reference Manual - Describes access techiques to VSP components used by the NSP Pro.

The NSP Pro Reference Designs - Clear, clean and lucid source code, fully field tested and debugged NSP Pro applications. The source code is implemented using industry standards such as Microsoft C/C++, the WIN32 programming model and our exclusive Network Seiral Port API and Virtual Serial Port API. This set consists of the following source code modules:

  • PhysicalOnServerToSingle Reference Design (source code) - Places a Serial Port's (such as RS-232) bi-directional datastream on a single Network Socket using "server" Socket paradigms. These paradigms allow remote network clients to dynamically connect and disconnect (similar to answering a phone) to this datastream.
  • VirtualOnServerToSingle Reference Design (source code) - Places a Virtual Seral Port's bi-directional datastream on a single Network Socket using "server" Socket paradigms. A Virtual Port may be accessed by "serial port aware" applications (example: HyperTerminal). The server paradigms allow remote network clients to dynamically connect and disconnect from the datastream of the Virtual Port (this is similar to answering telephone calls).
  • PhysicalOnClientToSingle Reference Design (source code) - Connects the bi-directional data stream from a local Serial Port (such as RS-232) to another bi-directional datastream on a single remote network socket. Using socket client paradigms, this utility can select which remote network socket to connect (this is similar to dialing a telephone).
  • The VirtualOnClientToSingle Reference Design (source code) - Connects a Virtual Serial Port's bi-directional datastream on a single Network Socket to another bi-directional data stream on a single remote Network Socket. Using "server" Socket paradigms. A Virtual Port may be accessed locally by "serial port aware" applications (example: HyperTerminal). Using socket client paradigms, this utility can select which remote network socket to connect (this is similar to dialing a telephone connection).
